It's definitely worth checking out, particularly if you're a fan of book/TV/movie franchises like Reacher or American Assassin.

And whilst, again, you could make the argument that a movie would cover this ground a lot more quickly and efficiently, there is some sense of tense and compelling drama to the narrative here, and when the action erupts, it is staged authentically, Pratt perhaps surprisingly comfortable in the veteran SEAL role. Pratt's surely the good guy, surely? But those unfamiliar with the books will quite pleasantly be scratching their heads trying to figure out whether it's all in his head - itself a clearly very messed up place to be - and whether much of what we're seeing is just a hallucination. The story is The Terminal List's key asset, trading in such heady mystery that, in the early episodes, you wonder whether it's got some kind of damn supernatural, Malignant-style explanation. It's only really Hustlers' Constance Wu who seems utterly out of her depth as a supposed war reporter. Warming to Pratt in the role, you'll find him surrounded by a decent group of supporting actors, from Taylor Kitsch as his best friend to Jeanne Tripplehorn (how many times have we seen her since the heady days of Basic Instinct?) as a political ally, to Riley Keough, underused as his wife, Yellowjackets' Warren Cole, and Jai Courtney, who is hardly enjoying a post- Suicide Squad resurgence, but is making some better career choices.

It's jarring at first, not least because of The Tomorrow War, which was a lot more '12A', with The Terminal List a full swearing, guns-and-guts affair even if it largely sits in mystery for the most part with only bursts of violence splattered across the duration. definitely worth checking out, particularly if you're a fan of book/TV/movie franchises like Reacher or American AssassinĬhris Pratt does a solid job jettisoning his traditional goofy trademark persona, the same character he's played in pretty much everything - a trio of Jurassic movies, more than a trio of Marvel movies, and even films like Amazon's earlier Tomorrow War.
